The EMD GP15-1 is a 4-axle diesel locomotive built by General Motors Electro-Motive Division between June, 1976 and March, 1982. Intended to provide an alternative to the rebuilding programs that many railroads were applying to their early road switchers, it is generally employed as a yard switcher or light road switcher. This locomotive is powered by a 12-cylinder EMD 645E engine, which generates 1,500 horsepower (1,119 kW). The GP15-1 uses a 50' 9" frame, has a wheelbase of 29' 9" and has a length over couplers of 54' 11" A total of 310 units were built for American railroads. A number of GP15-1's remain in service today.

Product Announcement: Dash 8-40B/BW/32BHW Locomotives GE's originally introduced this series with model designation following the pattern of the Dash-7 line. After product improvements were made to the line in 1987 the official designations for models in this series changed to "Dash-8". However, for simplicity, many railroads decided to use designations which follow the pattern of the Dash-7 line. Thus, for example, the Dash 8-40C is usually rendered as "C40-8". The "W" suffix indicates the then-optional wide-nose "North American" safety cab. For example, the Santa Fe used the designation "B40-8W" for GE's "Dash 8-40BW". The railroad continued this practice until its merger with the Burlington Northern Railroad in 1995, and the new railroad, Burlington Northern-Santa Fe (later BNSF Railway) furthered the practice. Introduced during the Dash 8's later years were split-cooling in the radiators and electronic displays for the crews instead of analogue gauges. Features:

Product Announcement: GP38-2 Locomotives An EMD GP38-2 is a four-axle diesel-electric locomotive of the road switcher type built by General Motors Electro-Motive Division. Part of the EMD Dash 2 line, the GP38-2 was an upgraded version of the earlier GP38. Power was provided by an EMD 645E 16-cylinder engine, which generated 2000 horsepower (1.5 MW). The GP38-2 differs externally from the earlier GP38 only in minor details. There is a cooling water level sight glass on the right side of the hood, and the battery box covers are bolted down, instead of hinged. It can be distinguished from the contemporary GP39-2 and GP40-2 in that its Roots blown engine had two exhaust stacks, one each side of the dynamic brake fan if fitted, while the turbocharged GP39-2 and GP40-2 has a single stack.
