The “Pocket Line” series of trains is intended as a gateway for beginning modelers who are looking for a way to enter the hobby that’s fun and affordable, but not limited in expansion possibilities. Many experienced modelers and collectors also purchase "Pocket Line" models because they are fun, affordable and also somewhat rare. It can be many years between production runs. Pocket Trains are the perfect models to run on the KATO Compact Track Series Sets. Using these offerings together modelers can build excellent "Micro-Layouts". It was specifically designed for use with the KATO Pocket Line Trains running on the KATO Compact Track Sets and it works very well for that purpose. It may work for similar models that have efficient motors and do not require much current that are running on very small layouts. It will not work on medium or large layouts because there will be too much of voltage drop. Again, it was specifically designed for use with the KATO Pocket Line Trains running on the KATO Compact Track Sets. Hiroshima Tram This Type 200 Tram belongs to the Hiroshima Electric Railway. It was donated by Hannover City in West Germany (just before the German reunification) in August 1989 to commemorate the 5th Anniversary of the "sister city" Hiroshima. After entering the Hiroshima Electric Railway, it operated on the Shirashima Line and later on the Yokogawa Line. Since the fall of 2018, it has been used only at special events and at Christmas. The KATO model has an updated power unit that features a new coreless motor. This allows for smoother performance than previous production runs. Japanese Models KATO produces a wealth of Japanese prototype models including many of the high speed "bullet trains" (Shinkansens) that are extremely popular with our customers. The range is so large that it is not possible for KATO to produce all of the models at once. They are produced a few at a time in what is known as "batch production runs". Most of the models are produced for KATO's home market of Japan but from time to time we are lucky enough to see few models in the USA. What you see below are most of the models that are available at this time. These are in stock only in very limited quantities so if you see something of interest please do not hesitate to place your order.
