Digital Command Control

LENZ is is actually the inventor of Digital Command Control building proprietary systems for MÄRKLIN in the late 70's and early 80's. LENZ realized that what they had created could be used for all model trains, not just the MÄRKLIN system so they started marketing their products to model railroaders worldwide.  In 1993 the National Model Railroading Association (NMRA) needed to agree on standards for DCC and the LENZ system was chosen to be the basis for these standards.  Today LENZ is the number one installed base of DCC systems in the world and also build systems for ATLAS to market under their own name brand.
